    Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for the design, analysis, interpretation, and presentation in oral and written form of experiments focused on studying the involvement of the hypothalamus and related brain circuitry in feeding, reward, motivated behavior, and diet-induced obesity. The project is part of a larger effort in the lab to understand the role of subcortical circuitry in normal and pathological feeding and reward processes.

    Under the direction of Dr. Qi Yang, the Postdoctoral Fellow(s) will be responsible for the performance and analysis of experiments focused on development and function of novel immune cells. The project is part of a larger research effort in the lab that will focus on the development and function of novel innate immune cells in vital tissues such as the lung and the brain.     Under the direction of Dr. Zhiping Pang (Principal Investigator) the Temporary Research Assistant (TRA) will be responsible for molecular cloning, cell culture, high throughput imaging, and data analysis. The applicant should have a strong background in neuroscience and/or cell biology and be able to perform molecular, cellular, and imaging experiments. Applicants must be able to conduct independent experiments and prepare written and oral reports. Qualified candidates must be on track to obtain a degree in a biological science field. Majored in Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or relevant biological sciences. Prior experience with molecular biology is required. Neuronal culture, protein complex purification and cell imaging techniques are preferred. Experience with microscopy is preferred.

  • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant position with the Child Health Institute at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

    Under the direction of the (PI) and lab members, the Temp Research Assistant (TRA) will be responsible for the performance and analysis of experiments focused on studying human stem cell models of genetic mutations causing autism and intellectual disability (ID). The project is part of a larger effort in the lab to define the role of intracellular signaling in establishing male bias in intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder.  While some experience with cell culture is preferred, the TRA will work closely with a postdoctoral fellow in the lab in maintaining several induced pluripotent stem cell lines (iPSCs) and differentiating them into neurons. They should have a broad (college-level) knowledge of biochemistry, cell biology, and neurobiology. The TRA will also be responsible for using confocal microscopy techniques to analyze multiple aspects of neuronal differentiation.  As part of their career development to transition to the next phase of their career, the TRA will be trained in improving their experimental design skills and their oral and written presentation skills.
